How Bulky Item Collection works
- The city picks up a maximum of 5 items.
- Bulky items means large items that do not fit into a refuse container, such as mattresses and furniture.
- Large appliances such as refrigerators and freezers are picked up by a separate truck and may not be removed with the other items.
- Bundle tree trimmings no longer than three feet and no heavier than ten pounds, and put out no more than four bundles.
- Construction debris and hazardous waste are not collected as part of bulky item collection.
- Before you call, move the items to the front curb or to the alley behind your property and label them clearly for pickup, noting "For City Pick-up".
- City crews do not come onto private property, so everything has to be moved to the curb or the alley to be collected.
- Allow 7 to 10 days from your request for the items to be collected.
- When a holiday occurs, bulky item pickup is delayed by one day, the same as trash, recycling and organics.
