Precise Junk Removal sends its crew to San Marino on runs out of Pasadena. Text a photo to (626) 590-3118. The median San Marino home was built in 1943, so the crew prices a garage that age from one photo, and a garage cleanout there often means decades of stored things. Put the whole pile in the picture so the price matches the load.

For big furniture, the city's Bulky Item Collection program is the first thing to check, and its own page lists what it takes. A couch or a fridge from the garage can also go on the truck with the rest of the pile, and if you are unsure about an item, ask when you text. In San Marino you can use your existing organics container for landscaping waste as well as food scraps, but the city's green bin list says palm fronds do not go in the green bin. The city's holiday greenery collection and recycling runs three full weeks, December 26 through January 15. Branches and fronds that have nowhere to go are a landscaping load for the truck.

About 17 percent of households rent, and San Marino Code Enforcement says tenants are accountable for removing trash, discards or litter piled up about the property. The department also asks for voluntary compliance first on property maintenance problems. If you are turning a unit or moving out, send a photo. A rental turnover with leftover furniture and a full garage prices the same way as any other pile, from the room it takes on the truck.

A San Marino rental turnover is where the order matters most. The usable couch or dresser from the unit goes to a donation center first, recycling comes next, and the landfill gets only what has no other home. The crew works that way on every load, and about 75 percent of what gets picked up ends up recycled. The garage boxes from a house built around 1943 follow the same order.

How Bulky Item Collection works

  • Each home gets two bulky item collections a year, with up to 10 bulky items in each collection.
  • Pickups are by appointment, and you choose the time that suits you.
  • A bulky item cannot be longer than eight feet, wider than four feet, or heavier than 150 pounds.
  • Bulky items include furniture, mattresses, couches and loveseats including sleeper sofas, chairs and other small furniture, water heaters, refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers, dishwashers and similar large items.
  • The program does not take car bodies, construction and demolition debris, tires, oil, antifreeze and other hazardous substances, household hazardous waste, electronic waste, fluorescent bulbs or household batteries. The program also leaves out regular trash, recyclables, food scraps, and anything that needs more than two people to move.
  • Yard trimmings put out for a bulky item pickup have to be bagged.
  • Holiday greenery is collected and recycled for three full weeks, from December 26 through January 15 each year.

Questions

Questions about junk removal in San Marino.

Where should firewood sit on a San Marino property in the fire zone?
The fire department recommends at least 30 feet from structures, or fully covered with a fire-resistant material, if your home is in the High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. The department's hazardous vegetation inspections start every June. A woodpile you would rather not keep can go on the truck. Text a photo to (626) 590-3118.
How much does junk removal cost in San Marino?
The minimum is $50, and the price is a single figure read off your photo, based on the truck space the load fills. Stairs are +$50 each and a steep slope starts at +$50. The cost guide lays it out.
When can the crew come to San Marino?
Hours are 8 AM to 8 PM daily, with a two-hour arrival window. Ask about same-day when you text.
Where do paint and batteries go from a San Marino home?
Ask when you text. The city's own route for those is a county household hazardous waste program open to all county residents, which also takes motor oil.
What happens if Code Enforcement flags a pile at my San Marino rental?
Code Enforcement asks for voluntary compliance first. If that fails within a reasonable time, the city says it may lead to criminal prosecution or civil abatement, and tenants are accountable for removing the pile, so clearing it early is the safer move.
